Day 6

Seeing Yourself As God Sees You

[content_box_red width=”75%”]WOW Words of Today: Arise (from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you; rise to a new life)! Shine—be radiant, with the glory of the Lord; for your light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you![/content_box_red]

Look into the mirror of God’s Word that we may be changed.5 Instead of staring into your closet every morning, spend some time gazing at Jesus and beholding His Word. Let Him clothe you in his radiant presence.

Once His glory starts shining through, anything you wear will look beautiful on you. The business world uses all kinds of gimmicks to raise the career person’s self-image, for they know the image he has of himself will either set him free to reach for new levels or hold him in poverty. The Word says the truth will set you free.6 The knowledge of and faith in God’s truth will set you free.

Then there’s always the doing part of faith. We must be doers of that truth. By doing what the Word says, thinking as God thinks and seeing yourself as God sees you, you allow God’s Word to build your self-image. The Apostle James says, “If any man be a hearer of the Word, and not a doer, he is like a man looking at his natural face in a glass, who then goes his way and forgets what manner of man he was.”7

By reading the Word of God, you begin see yourself the way God sees you. He does not see you as you are now. He sees you as you will be. He sees you after the Word have worked in you. God calls things that are not as though they were until they are.8

The Bible says that as you gaze into the Lord’s face by studying the Word and fellowshipping with Him, as you renew your mind to understand who you are in Christ, you’ll be changed into His image on the outside as well.9

As you learn to follow the Lord more and more you will show the glory of God on the inside of you on the outside. Decide to set aside time to gaze on the Lord. Get a daily reading Bible. Get serious about allowing the Word to change you.

Get a plan and work your plan. Some good Bible reading plans are: One year Bible, Faith-to- Faith Devotional, other devotionals (there are so many). Choose one today!

Decide today; you will accept what God says about you. Join me as I once again hear and obey the words of Prophet Isaiah, “Arise (from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you; rise to a new life)! Shine—be radiant, with the glory of the Lord; for your light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you!”10 Wait, before you stop reading!

Realize it takes time to overcome old patterns of thinking. When you read the Bible know that God is building precept upon precept until his promises become a reality in your heart. You are a child of God, the daughter of the King.11
